This movie doesn't exactly have the most quickly unfolding plot line, but the end is a decent one.
The story has a woman (Mira Sorvino) getting a job as a waitress at a mob-influenced restaurant, where she quickly makes friends with the other two waitresses who work there. As it turns out, one of the waitresses is an undercover police officer and the other (Mariah Carey, in one of her few acting roles to date) is involved in some of these mob dealings.
In the end, there's a big shootout and it appears that the two "good guy" waitresses are left for dead while the "bad guy" waitress shoots the mob boss, and of course is mad that the undercover cop didn't tell her about it.
So she's huffy when her ex-friend comes to wish a happy birthday, but she has a surprise in store during the visit. There is a decent twist at the end, but I'm not sure if it's worth sitting through the whole movie to get to it. You could likely watch the first 15-20 minutes to get a feel for it, fast forward to the last ten minutes to see it and not miss much.
Rated R for language, violence and some drug content.
